PROPER USE WHEN WALKING YOUR PET
  • The leash is intended to be held by the handle, when walking your dog, failure to do so could lead to injury.
  • Make sure you don't wrap the cord around any body part, doing so could lead to serious injuries. Make sure you hold on tight. Dogs can be unpredictable and it is important to make sure you have a strong hold on the leash and firm footing. If your dog bolts push the brake button and secure your footing in case of a sudden jolt.
  • The leash should be dropped immediately should it become tangled around any part of the user's body.
  • Always hold the leash properly, with your arm down and extended away from your body.
  • Make sure no part of the leash gets wrapped around the dog's neck, or other body parts.
  • The leash should never be held above the head as doing so could lead to injuries to the eyes or face.
  • If the collar and leash separate during use press the brake immediately.
  • Control your own dog when another person or animal approaches.
  • Always drop the leash if you lose control of your dog.
  • Always protect your leash from being chewed, ensure it isn't rubbing against anything.

REPAIR
  • The ADAPT-O-LEASH® comes with a warranty so please do not attempt to do your own repairs.
  • The mechanics of this leash are technical and involve a pre-wound spring. Do not open the housing of the leash. Doing so could cause injury and will void the warranty.
THE DAISY ANCHOR
  • Choose a spot that is situated safely away from other obstacles.
  • Place the point of the anchor in the ground and turn in a clockwise direction.
  • If you run into resistance, reverse the turn to remove the anchor and try a new spot.
  • Never try to force the anchor by banging or hammering on top of the stem or the cap.
  • Always make sure the Daisy Anchor is firmly in the ground before attaching the leash to it.
THE ADAPT-O-LEASH®
  • Place the leash over the anchor allowing the stem to slip through the hole In the center of the leash.
  • Always secure leash to the anchor with the Daisy Cap.
  • Use caution when removing the leash from the Daisy anchor. Avoid getting tangled in the leash/cord.

Adapt-o-leash® has a unique adjustable braking system. It has four length setting options. Approx settings are 4, 8, 12 and 16 ft.

TO ATTACH LEASH:
  • When your dog is calm, attach the leash clasp to the ring of your dog's collar.
TO OPERATE:
  • Hold the ADAPT-O-LEASH® by the handle, not the cord or any other part of the leash. If it is held properly then it should move freely in and out of the housing. To prevent injuries from tripping or falling do not leave the Daisy Anchor in the ground or lying around when not in use. Put it away in a safe place.
TO SET LEASH LENGTH:
  • When leash is retracted, simply slide the length option button to desired length. The approximate settings are; 1=4', 2=8', 3=12', and 4=16'.
TO STOP LEASH:
  • Press back on the brake button with thumb.
TO LOCK BRAKE:
  • Brake automatically locks when button is pressed. Cord will retract while brake is engaged, but will not release.
TO RELEASE THE BRAKE LOCK:
  • Slide brake reset button up.
TO WALK TO HEEL:
  • Fully retract cord and press back on the break button with thumb.
TO BRING YOU DOG NEARER:
  • Extend your arm forward then draw arm back to your side, cord will retract while brake is engaged, repeat as needed.
TO UNHOOK LEASH:
  • Make sure your dog is under control before unhooking the leash. When the leash is fully retracted pull back on the brake button to lock. Release dog.
WET CORD:
  • To dry wet cord: Pull the cord all the way out, set brake and let dry. When cord is dry attach end of cord to safe stable object, while keeping cord tight hold tightly to the leash handle and slide brake reset button up to release brake, retract cord slowly. This will prevent the leash cord from retracting rapidly and the clasp from possibly hitting you causing eye or face injury.
